    Code of Conduct

    last updated: October 2026

CyberProwess exists because talent is everywhere but opportunity is not. That only works if every learner, mentor, volunteer and partner feels safe, respected and welcome here. This code applies in our classes, labs, community channels, events and anywhere you represent CyberProwess.

    1. Hack ethically, always

    • Only test systems you own, or systems you have explicit, written permission to test. Course labs and CTFs are provided for exactly this.
    • Never use what you learn here against real people, companies or infrastructure without authorisation.
    • If you find a real vulnerability, report it responsibly to the owner and do not exploit or publicise it.
    • Never share other people's credentials, personal data, malware or stolen material in our spaces.

    2. Treat people well

    • Be kind, patient and generous. Everyone here was new once, and many are switching careers.
    • No harassment, discrimination or personal attacks, whether for gender, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, background or experience level.
    • Describe the material as hard, never the person as slow. There are no stupid questions here.
    • Respect privacy: don't share screenshots, recordings or messages from the community without consent.

    3. Learn honestly

    • Do your own capstone and assessment work. Collaboration is encouraged, but copying is not.
    • Represent your certificate, badge and skills accurately to employers.

    4. Mentors and volunteers

    • Mentoring relationships are professional. Never ask mentees for money, favours or personal relationships.
    • Keep what mentees share with you confidential, unless someone is at risk of harm.

    5. Reporting and consequences

If you experience or witness behaviour that breaks this code, tell us at cyberprowesshq@gmail.com. We will treat reports confidentially and respond as quickly as we can. Breaking this code can lead to a warning, removal from a programme or channel, or a permanent ban. Illegal activity may be reported to the authorities.
